I visited Milna using the very good bus service that operates on Brac when I stayed in Supetar a few years ago. The Dalmatian islands: Hvar, Vis & Brac | A Croatian island guide. Bol is not the best place to stay on Brac if you want quiet. Postira, Sutivan, Milna would be better. If you don't like the location of Vis Town stay at Komiza instead which is on the west coast and close to the Blue Cave.

Day 2: Sail from Hvar to Vis island and the famous Blue Cave. Overnight in Vis. Day 3: Sail from Vis to Brac island. Swimming in Milna and return to Split at 6 pm.

I visited Milna using the very good bus service that operates on Brac when I stayed in Supetar a few years ago. Vis is much quieter and the towns on the northern coast of Hvar are poles apart from Hvar town, as already identified. If you are staying to the north on Hvar, get the 2 hour ferry from Split into Stari Grad rather than the 1 hour catamaran into Hvar town plus a half hour bus / taxi transfer.
